An Alibi Theater production
with Gustavo D'Aversa
directed by Walter Prete
"L'scream", is a blunt cantata, born from the rereading of some of the most incisive pages of literature, not only theatrical, of the last decades in a period in which human life seems to lose centrality with respect to the geographical and social origin, to the paths that it accomplishes, to the dangers that the encounter with the other would entail.
On stage Gustavo D'Aversa is the Other, just this Other from which we should constantly look at ourselves. A monologue in one breath that stops the viewer, hooks the conversation with any excuse and drags him into the experience, now so rare, of a meeting in flesh and blood with a stranger.
Scanned in a language that does not belong to anyone, a language that is simply another language, the needs of a humanity that knows no differences emerge and claims, in everyone, a room in which to spend the night, a hand that tends to light a cigarette, someone to talk to, do not run away, or simply stop and catch your breath.
"The Scream" is a discourse that seeks to articulate itself but continually stumbles between memories of the past and plans for the future, which seeks to become universal but remains anchored to the person who speaks, to its inexorable uniqueness and, precisely for this reason, to his absolute humanity, which, to be such, asks only to be heard and recognized by those in front of it.
It is the man without a name and without a role that speaks in this show, for all the time of torrential rain, the impending rain of the hostility that floods our cities: a situation from which to seek shelter, in which we must lower the defenses , ask for help and trust.

Levèra: an etymology that means to raise, to lift, to support, to pry, to blow . A strong wind rises and blows from the suburbs. A wind of inclusion, of rebirth, of possibility, of trust.
