Tempa Petrolla, (ptrodd. In local dialect. Pietra) a suggestive spur of rock that rises from nothing from the surrounding clay soil, to the border between the Municipalities of Montalbano Jonico, Pisticci and Craco.
from its summit you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama to the west, you will notice the Norman tower of Craco, to the north the Swabian castle of Pisticci, to the south, Montalbano and the Angevin basilica to the east the castle of San Basilio.
a legend has it that on this spur the brigands took refuge after the raids in the valley.
but it is also thought that this place was used as a lookout point as it is located in a position that dominates a large area and that is located on the road that leads from the coast to the ground.
