Monte Alpi

DESCRIPTION:
The Monte Alpi, if well detached from the pollino massif, belongs to the same national park, it is composed of three peaks, the Santa Croce summit, 1893 m, the 1880 m peak of the Corno, and the Falcone lace peak, 1900 m. (our goal).
The various peaks are connected to each other by two spectacular ridges and a saddle.
The start of the trek on this mountain will be from the Favino forest at an altitude of 1300, so we will immediately gain altitude to reach the summit of Pizzo falcone.
We will begin to walk in the beech forest immediately gaining altitude to reach the first peak (Santa Croce), from which we will attack the first ridge and reach the second peak (Corno), descending through the saddle, heading towards the second ridge that will take us to the Falcone lace peak 1900 mt.
Along the way we will be able to enjoy the wonderful beech trees of the Favino wood and the typical colors of autumn, to then admire the all-round view that will be presented, from the top of the mountain we will be able to enjoy a panorama that sweeps over the whole region, from the highest peaks of the pollino, to Mount Raparo, to the Ionian coast, if weather conditions permit.
For this excursion a good physical preparation is a must, since immediately from the beginning it sticks uphill, walking in the woods that in this period could also be insidious due to the foliage fallen on the ground, so both uphill and downhill it takes good preparation and familiarity.
