This year's last appointment of our Gallery will close on May 10th 2019 in perfect underground style: the street artist Alessandra Senso will be with us.
His artistic research combines different languages and artistic media with a predilection for drawing and mural painting in abandoned places, factories and abandoned houses. His artistic path linked to graffiti and, subsequently to urban art, was born and developed starting from the second half of the 90s. From his passion for forgotten places and buildings, his personal project - Derelict Building - was born in 2007, which provides for the production of pictorial and performative interventions in abandoned spaces. -A.c.m.e.-, -Reality- and -Cycle Age Dinamo Fitness- are three site-specific and photographic works that are worth the selection and publication as a finalist artist at the Terna International Award 01-03 and at the Eco Art Project 2010.
Directly from Berlin, the artist will arrive in Salento to inaugurate his first personal exhibition and, for the occasion, will intervene on the façade of the Arci di Galatina Eutopia.
Friday 10 May will be as follows:
6.30 pm - Aperitif in the garden with live music, where to start you can see the new facade of the Arci.
10.00 pm - Personal inauguration of Alessandra Senso with Platform DJjets.
As always, after the inauguration the exhibition will be open every day until 7 June 2019, excluding Tuesday, from 9.00 pm until the end of the Arci di Galatina, in Via Montecassino, 14.
ARTIST
Alessandra Senso is attracted by the stories, absorbs them, reworks them and sometimes blends them to then transfer them into the environment with symbolic and dreamlike forms. She plays with space, different surfaces and their peculiarities, creating a meticulously studied but at the same time spontaneous balance. The sinuous lines, the harmony of the features reflect the formal research that underlies all his works. The human being and his relationship both with his own interiority and with the nature that surrounds him are among the key topics of his work.
In 2006, he participated with a live painting at the exhibition - Street Art Sweet Art - at the PAC in Milan. In 2008 he exhibited at -Scala Mercalli, the Italian street art earthquake-, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome curated by Gianluca Marziani.
The solo exhibition in 2009 - Derelict Building -, at the XLAB Gallery, in Berlin by Paola Verde and Marcello Congui. In October 2013 he took part in the international Street art exhibition "La Tour Paris 13" in Paris. Some projects in which he participated: Mostar Street Art Festival (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Re: mapping street festival, (Roman / Bucharest), Wuwec festival (Bulgaria), Breaking Walls, Luciana Matalon Foundation (Milan), Beyond the city walls ( Bomarzo), Urban Canvas (Varese), Energy box (Milan), The Bocs (Cosenza). He has worked and collaborated with companies such as Budweiser, Fiat, Raitunes, Amica Magazine, La Rinascente, Adidas, Diadora, Huawei. He is currently based in Berlin.
