The propensity to lend the works exhibited in a museum originated in the countries of northern Europe in the sixties and later in northern and central Italy. This museum service is now also offered to the citizens of Galatina who appreciate the figurative art so much to request the loan to use it privately, comfortably in their home or workplace.
A work must be admired, contemplated, seen and reviewed in order to deepen the details, the content, the message that communicates, not always perceptible to a first and only look, more or less short, during a visit to a gallery or a museum . Collectors are convinced that in order to have this possibility they buy a work to benefit from it in continuity, admiring the atmosphere and the pictorial details, observing them as a whole or individually.
The collection Solicitations, curated by Salvatore Luperto and Anna Panareo, consisting of contemporary works of art (coming from authors, collectors, gallery owners) aims to encourage the visitor to ask questions, to dialogue ideally with the thought of author and to reflect on his message. They are heterogeneous works that belong to pictorial categories of the second half of the twentieth century and the first decades of the millennium. Some are of authors known nationally belonging to trends of important international cultural phenomena.
Sollecitazioni is an open, mobile exhibition which can be added to in different times by the museum, which will consider significant and responding to the established criteria of the artistic direction of the museum.
