RESTITUZIONE is the title of the essay that will be presented during the evening and which collects the analysis of the production of Centonze's works with their historical framework. The same title chosen for the book is a tribute by the author to the artist and is at the same time a personal memory, RESTITUZIONE is in fact the word that Centonze used most, in conversations about art, wanting to call attention to his interlocutory quality: -Without restitution, a work of art is unthinkable, today more than ever. Therefore it is not only a question of making the works of the artist, for Angela Serafino, known, but also to understand the processes by which they are been generated, capturing the links from graphic signs, to canvases, to picto-sculptures-sound. He writes in the preface of the book - In my training what prevails over the knowledge of a question of art is the network of connections that is created around it. When visually, a map is made up that can contain the starting point up to the unrecognizable limit, it means that I can write about the question. To those who asked him why this writing, nine years after the death of Centonze, the author replies that it was a duty to remember the artist, for the topicality of his production and for the themes that he addressed to you in particular that of protection of the earth, he had been dealing with the Amazon forest since the 1990s, when the subject was not of tragic urgency. For this reason we chose to summarize and recall Renato Centonze in the poster for the presentation of the meeting - Sounds of Grass for Chico Mendes - from 1992. The cost of the book will be donated to the purchase and planting of trees and this is the meaning of RETURN for Angela Serafino.
The meeting is the third of the second season of the Review - Meetings at the College, organized by the Fiordilibro bookstore and will take place at the Chiesa del Collegio at 18.30. Introduced by Don Antonio Santoro Rector of the Church of Santa Maria della Grazia.
