Distance is a space in which to move with the soul to give it air and trust, to believe that Galatina will make it, that Lecce, Salento, Puglia, Italy will make it.

In the emergency, in the fight against the worst, the best of us can come out. This is demonstrated by the courage and determination of those who are in the ward and have transformed work into a moral duty. This is demonstrated by the patience of those who are not used to waiting, but know today that only calm can help overcome isolation.

We think of those who have not made it, pray for those who are no longer there and thank for the strength that is still keeping us compact on the difficult path against coronavirus, against the crisis.

And to the activities that are suffering from the closure we hope to resist, to hold on. We have no alternative to this insidious evil. Dawn cannot be so far away.
