Tonio Nazir Baffa (Jerusalem, 27/08/1971)
Born in Jerusalem and adopted by a Salentine family when he was just 2 years old, he studied in prestigious European art schools and graduated in mathematics at the Faculty of Sciences MM. FF. NN. of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
His artistic career began very late, only after graduation, as he felt the need to study in depth the various problems of contemporary man, concentrating his research on the world of information and the mass media and on the influence that produce in the life of each one of us. Particular attention is paid to fake news on the internet and to how much these affect the way of thinking of many users.
In this exhibition, curated by Giorgia Cigli, will be exposed some of his latest works that look with great irony, to guide the user to a new point of view, helping him to go beyond what you look, stimulating him to deepen the information and not leave to be deceived by what is called "absolute truth".
Giorgia Cigli (03/12/1965)
Although not a curator and a critic of art has been chosen by the artist because of the friendship that binds them for some time. Giorgia has followed the work of Tonio Nazir Baffa with passion and has shared with him various phases of his life. Nazir explains that Giorgia is the most suitable person to give a very personal cut to this exhibition because, in addition to knowing him very well, he believes that his choice not to be very present in artistic circles and his aversion to social media, they offer the advantage of not being influenced by pre-established schemes and concepts.
