Intrance Festival_Inauguration

From July 16 to September 15 Galatina hosts InTrance, a photography and contemporary art festival, designed to enhance the city's nerve centers through culture and included in the 2021 summer and cultural festival "A Cuore Scalzo". So Galatina chooses to be discovered as a body to be observed, inhabited and made to live.
The festival is spread over two programs. There is a photography festival of contemporary, national and international artists who work on the theme of the body as a place of expression of forms of thought, gender issues, personal and collective identity of contemporary society through different photographic approaches ranging from documentary photography, to reportage, to staging and with different stylistic figures that pass from archive images, to fanzines, to direct-take photography up to performance. Cultural activities will then be carried out (artist residencies, workshops, performances) on the same theme together with the Galatinese community (associations and citizens).
The curator of the photographic exhibition is Alessia Rollo. Partner of the project and curator of participatory meetings is the 34th Fuso Association. The festival officially opens on Friday 16 July with an opening event at the “P. Cavoti ”of Galatina at 7:30 pm, during which we will explain what led the Municipal Administration of Galatina and curators of the project to create this network of images, sounds and concepts that will remain available to the city until 10 September.

Galatina will also host seven projects by seven internationally renowned visual artists: Alejandra Carles-Tolra, Federico Estol, Giulia Frigieri, Ornella Mazzola, Gloria Oyarzabal, Myrto Papadopoulos, Roberto Tondopó.There will be outdoor exhibitions set up in urban spaces, historic palaces and courtyards, which can be visited from 27 July until 31 August.

The workshops "My body" will develop starting as early as July 15 with the section "My body dances!" curated by Erika Schipa and will involve adults and children over the weeks in singing projects, storytelling, body positivity and harmonious care. The collaboration for the realization of these workshops is between 34 ° Fuso and GioRè, Maria Marzioni, Rachele Andrioli, Arci and Adalgisa Romano.

The Civic Museum “P. Cavoti "will also be an artist's residence with the art of Claudia Mollese that will be inspired by the place where it will materialize.
